2) Offerings and Features of This Website
This website is an online store for the sale of goods, digital content, and services.
“Goods” are physical items.
“Digital content” refers to data or datasets created and provided in digital form.
Products are presented to you here and can be added to an electronic shopping cart and then ordered and paid for in a binding purchase.
This website includes a header menu and a footer menu.
In the header menu, the products we sell are listed by category and can be accessed individually from there.
Each product is described on its own detail page with further information about its key features, the scope of delivery and/or services, and the total price. From there, the product can be added to the electronic shopping cart.
You can also access the electronic shopping cart via the header menu once you have added at least one product. From the cart, you can start and complete the electronic ordering process.
In the footer menu, you will find links to our legal notice (Imprint) with our contact information, as well as information on the legal basis of our online offering, delivery and payment options, and links to other helpful service pages.
3) Explanation of How to Use the Offerings and Features
3.1 Virtual Buttons
This website can be operated using virtual buttons.
3.2 Home, Category, and Product Detail Pages
On the home page, you will find a selection of products offered in the central area of the page. By interacting with a product display, you will be taken to the product detail page.
You can navigate between different product categories via the header menu. After selecting a category, you will be taken to an overview page where all products in that category are displayed.
By interacting with a product display on the overview page, you will in turn be taken to the product detail page.
The product detail pages contain all essential information about the product and the total price and may also include a quantity selection element and an “Add to Cart” button.
If available, you can use the quantity selection to set the desired order quantity.
3.3 Electronic Shopping Cart
By clicking the “Add to Cart” button, you add the product (possibly in the selected quantity) to the electronic shopping cart.
You can access this electronic shopping cart at any time via the header menu.
There you can first review the products you have added. Using the relevant buttons, products can be removed again or, where applicable, the order quantity can be changed.
3.4 Electronic Ordering Process
After reviewing, you can complete the electronic ordering process by interacting with the relevant buttons.
First, you will be asked to enter your contact details (at least your name, email address, and delivery and/or billing address) via an input form.
Then, in the next step, you can choose between the available delivery and/or service options.
Finally, you can select one of the available payment methods, enter the necessary payment details, and complete the order.
The order becomes binding only when you click the button provided for that purpose on the final order page. This button is labeled “Buy,” “Buy Now,” “Place Order with Obligation to Pay,” or another similarly clear wording.
Before clicking this order button, you can use your browser’s “Back” button at any time to return to previous steps and/or cancel the ordering process at any time.
If you chose to pay using an online payment method, you will be redirected from the final order page to the payment provider’s system in order to make the payment there.
4) Legal Requirements for Accessibility
As an online store, this website qualifies as a “service in electronic commerce” and is characterized by an electronic ordering and payment option.
Special legal accessibility requirements apply to it.
In general, this website must provide features and procedures that are designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities and that enable use with digital assistive technologies.
The online store functions of this website must be designed to be:
-
perceivable,
-
operable,
-
understandable, and
-
robust.
“Perceivable” means that the information and components of the online store are presented so that all users can perceive them without difficulty.
“Operable” requires that the online store’s features can also be used by users with limited mobility or cognitive limitations.
“Understandable” means that the information and functions of the online store are logically structured, easy to identify, and labeled unambiguously.
“Robust” means that the content and functions can be used reliably and without restriction, even when users employ digital assistive technologies.
If the online store sells products that are themselves subject to accessibility requirements, then—for such products—information on accessible use must be provided where available.
5) Available Aids for Accessible Use
This website meets the accessibility requirements through the following measures:
-
Alt text for images: Images in the online store include alternative text that provides a brief description of the image and can be processed by screen readers.
-
Adjustable font size: The font size of page content can be adjusted via a setting so it can be perceived as well as possible by each user.
-
Adjustable color contrast: The color contrast of page elements can be adjusted up or down.
-
Accessible CAPTCHAs: To ensure entries are of human origin, so-called “CAPTCHAs” may be used. These CAPTCHAs can be completed not only through visual recognition, but also by solving simple thinking tasks.
-
Operable by mouse and keyboard: The online store’s functions can be operated both by mouse and by keyboard. Using the keyboard control keys, the mouse pointer can be moved and clicked within the online store.
-
Browser-independent page output: The content and functions of this website are available in the same arrangement, alignment, and resolution regardless of the browser used.
-
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS): A programming language is used that separates the presentation of page content (layout, color, and design) from its structural organization. This allows assistive technologies to use their own visibility schemes to display the page content.
-
Verified correctness of HTML code: All HTML code is continuously checked for functionality in order to prevent malfunctions and ensure it can be captured by assistive technologies.
-
Sufficient spacing between characters: Characters are displayed with sufficient spacing so readability is not impaired.
-
Compatibility with screen readers: The online store’s content is compatible with all common screen readers and can be read and processed by them.
-
Responsive design (adaptation to different screen sizes): Content, elements, and functions automatically adjust their dimensions to the size of the screen being used.
-
Scalability (visibility when zoomed): Page elements and content remain high-resolution and legible even when zoomed in.
-
Strong color contrast: A strong contrast between text and background colors is preset to ensure optimal visibility of page elements.
-
Text prompts when required fields are not completed: If required input fields are not completed, a text notice is provided in addition to a color highlight. This notice explains what information is missing from the field.
